The Bureau of International Expositions, an intergovernmental organization with 170 members awarded Dubai as the host of Expo 2020.
Expo 2020 is a Universal Exposition and global event destination for millions of people to share ideas, showcase innovation, encourage collaboration and celebrate human ingenuity with the theme ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’.
It’s the event everyone in the UAE is looking forward to as Expo 2020 Dubai is officially 1,000 days away, and construction is progressing as planned for the showcase event. Expo 2020 will support the government’s plans to improve the emirate’s tourism, hospitality and its prolific real estate industry. High profile real estate initiatives such as the Dubai Water Canal, Museum of the Future, Deira Islands, Dubai theme parks are being undertaken, to delight local and international tourists.
With Dubai’s open legislation for freehold foreign ownership, international investors can own real estate in designated areas, Dubai is developing a new mega residential, commercial, educational, entertainment and cultural district within Dubai South, attracting investments worth billions of dirhams*.
The Dubai Expo site will be located in Dubai South, covers 4.38 sq km which is the same size as Disneyland California.
Al Wasl Plaza will be the heart of Expo 2020. It is said to bring together a physical manifestation of the main theme of the Expo. The dome is set to double up as a 360-degree screen at night, projecting images to thousands of visitors both inside and outside. Significant events such as the opening and closing ceremonies will be held here.
