This is a man-made island that gets its name from the fact that its shape resembles a palm tree. Popularly known to residents as JBR, it is a massive residential development within the Dubai Marina community along Dubai coastline. Jumeirah Beach Residence has six clusters of high-rise apartment stands overlooking the sea, a main consideration for those looking to live here. At your doorstep is “The Walk”, a beachfront promenade where you can find many restaurants, retail outlets, hotels and cafes. Water activities are also the main attractions of JBR. The Bluewaters Island will soon be completed that will feature Dubai’s biggest observation wheel, Al Ain Dubai. Residential Apartments, Retail and Hotels are also being constructed in Bluewaters Island.
JUMEIRAH / UMM SUQEIM
This is the home of Burj Al Arab, the most expensive hotel in the world with a very unique architectural design. You’ll find the first beachfront residences in Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim usually massive in sizes. If you are lucky enough, you might be living in an upgraded villa with private pool, lift, huge parking spaces and additional amenities. There is more privacy here for water activities than JBR. Box Park, Citywalk and La Mer are the newest attractions in this district with many activities for the whole family.
Watch out for Dubai Harbour, an upcoming waterfront development connected to JBR that will feature the Dubai Lighthouse, luxury hotel and an observation deck. It will also feature a 150,000 sq ft cruise liner terminal capable of handling 6,000 passengers, as well as entertainment and retail space, a yacht club, shopping mall, hotels and residences. Upcoming residential towers are Sunrise Bay and Beach Vista offering one to four bedroom apartments.
Beachfront, Sea-view residences have been the most in-demand type of living in Dubai that are also good for investors who can lease their property for short and long term period.
